Windows 7 Launches Today

The long awaited Windows 7 has been officially launched today.

7 replaces Vista as Microsoft’s latest Operating System (OS), with a host of new user features, most of which have come about as a result of short falls or complaints from Vista users.

Pre-release interest for this product has been high to say the least, with it becoming the biggest pre-order item on Amazon UK.

Microsoft are offering an update from Vista or XP as well as standalone versions for new PC buyers.

Dell have also partnered with Microsoft and are offering machines with the OS pre installed.

Personally I felt Microsoft got an undeserved bashing with Vista, as I found the OS to be buggy but still very functional, that said my own personal experience with it does not seem to be the norm as many users found it frustrating to use.

7 seems to be harping back to the old XP days and initial reports are all positive for this new ’speedy’ OS.
