    Hello,

If you’re disgusted by last night’s result go to the FIFA website and
post a comment. I know other people are doing this so I thought I’d
    spread the word. Go to:

If this happened in a match against America France would certainly be liberated. …. and by liberated I mean exploded.

I have scored many goals, so I know a thing or two and, by Jack Charlton’s cap, that was no fair goal. Shame on you, you cheese eating surrender monkey

firstly…. henry handled the ball…gallas scored and he celebrated like nothing happened… he then admitted it to richard dunne after the game went. he always said he was a fair player, so why didnt he own up to the ref there and then… dommenench still doesnt believe the ball was handled…but the free kick was way offside in the first place.. the match officials should be never allowed to officiate in football again. as for france in the world cup….. cmon algeria.

To represent your Country in a sporting team, group or as an individual is the greatest honour anybody can have. This right however comes with a responsibility to represent your country in your words and actions. To be a captain it is expected that you act with the highest integrity and you are the person which people …aspire to be. Thierry by not accepting your responsibility and acting with integrity you are no better than that other cheating captain Hanse Cronje

    Dear Mr Henry
I have always been a fan of yours, your ability and skill on the football pitch has seen you become one of the best footballers of your generation.
But I believe you have let yourself down badly in your actions against the Rep of Ireland. You blatantly cheated and then were not man enough to admit it after the game, claiming that you did not mean to handle the ball.

Let me tell you Mr Henry you have shattered a nations dreams of playing in a world cup finals with your cheating. I also feel that you have cheated yourself out of a legacy of been a great footballer and will now just be remembered as a cheat.

So Mr Henry I believe you should be a man come out and admit your cheating and apologise to the Irish football team, management and Irish nation, this may go somewhat towards healing the hurt which your cheating has caused.

    Regards
    Pat Brennan

Five minutes after me explaining to my mother than Thierry Henry had the best attitude of the French squad I was proved wrong. While I understand that he was only human he must understand that while playing international football, you are meant to play for your pride. He can have no pride in his actions. I would prefer to lose than to win like France won. I think it just proves that France knew they couldn’t beat Ireland fair and square.
While I felt bad for many of the things said by people in the aftermath of the game, I will not be sticking up for him. He was completely unapologetic in his post match interview and that is what sickened me. I’m sure that he cannot fully injure France’s ‘victory’.

Arrived back from Paris at 4am this morning and I still feel physicaly sick. Henry was a player that I always admired, he is held up world wide as a fair play icon by FIFA. To watch him on TV this morning with his arm around Dunner at the end is shocking. Henry if you had any sense of fair play you would call for a replay. Excuse any spelling mistakes but inm knackered !!

    Mark.

  17. BytheBeardofAlonso said on November 19th, 2009

If only Henry could have slapped McShane on his Easter Island sized head for letting the ball arc down…drop in front of him…bounce…and in behind him for henry to do his thing.
Robbie Keane hand balled twice, maybe three times in the game, inside the penalty area too?

  18. B-lav said on November 19th, 2009

Remember Paolo Di Canio Thierry? Your image as a good guy is finished with most of the wise footballing community seeing your true colours. How could you celebrate that goal and then get on the ground beside Richie Dunne with your arm around him? Sincerity is clearly not your strong point. As my grand mother used to say…”Their mothers should be ashamed of themselves”

  19. ShelleyBean said on November 19th, 2009

Absolutely dreadful! Henry should hang his head in shame! He aint got no va va voom.

Henry’s going to have to live with himself after this… really unlucky and unfair Irish dudes I really thought you were going to do it – absolutely gutted for you.

  20. paul said on November 19th, 2009

Thierry, you always had this reputation as a fair and honest player but now you have shown your true colours. At the time you celebrated like you won the world cup.
The cheek of you to go and sit with Richard Dunne he should have punched you.

  21. City'tilIdie said on November 19th, 2009

Thierry, remember how you felt when Schumacher punched Patrick Battison’s lights out in extra time & Germany beat a great French side to reach the final? Millions feel the same way now and seventeen years later you’ll still be remembered for what you did. I hope you’re proud.

    f**k the begrudgers.

  26. Lorna Janson said on November 19th, 2009

I hope young kids watching last night, who one day dream of playing for their national side, ignore the cheating and disgraceful handball and instead look to the Irish team, who against all the odds brought the French team to their knees and to the point that they had to cheat to beat us.

I hope there is some come back over this, otherwise it looks like cheaters do win.

  27. Neal KCD said on November 19th, 2009

    Thierry,
You’re such (and still) a great player with fair play. Whatever critics under the influence of emotion and stupid bad words i would just understand what happenned in your head when you shut your mouth instead of confirming the fault.

I think many players (maybe all players) would not say anything but is it due to pression for this event? If arbiter asked you, would you say him? Maybe rules are rules and this is just arbiter’s role to take care to this.

I can understand the hand was a reflex even if twice. It’s too quick to think i guess and hope.
We saw you weren’t proud of victory so i trust in your goodness. What’s done is done. I hope FIFA and other delegations will apply video control.

I’m sorry for Eire which is a great team who played very well but players did also faults which were not hissed. Nobody’s perfect. I’m not glad for France but relieved.

PS for Eire supporters : we can make again all the games if you want but this way french team could have been qualified directly against Serbia. But i promise i will support Eire next time ^^

Im not surprised that you Thierry did what you did, your arrogance simply could not take that there was more than a chance that you would be knocked out by anyone other than a top 5 team so your hand was the only thing that could possibly have knocked out the irish as your two left feet werent going anywhere near that ball
Filthy cheating dishonourable useless man (not footballer)

I’m french and in france many many people are very shocking because thierry henry is a cheat. I share the big deception of Ireland .I like Ireland and the courage of this team. Henry don’t deserved to be french captain. I hope Ireland replays this match Good luck

It’s a very serious scandal that in such a game, at such a crucial point, the lineman was at the right position, but it seems with his eyes shut in two occasions, at the off-side and at the hand. If it might be understandable the silence of Henry, the whole issue is a shame and discredits and hurts foot-ball very deeply.

I agree with all these comments…Of course…That’s the reason why I’m writing on this blog. I come from Britanny, and sure I’m more close to Irish people than some frenches from others areas. But, because there is a BUT….One precision…..I like eating cheese. Oh yes, so much! And….. cheese/monkey, I disagree. Monkeys generaly eat bananas. It’s not because 90% of our french team are mercenaries that frenches are all like that. About “frogs”….It’s not a problem when I look at my legs…(wink)
In conclusion, everybody shoud be flair, Henry should be banned from playing in the world cup, and better France should be disqualified.
    Respectueusement
