We were delighted to be nominated for our digital work for Absolut’s ‘AbsolutYou’ & Currys PC World ‘Electric Wedding’ at tonight’s Social Media Awards and for best agency for use of social media.
Taking place in the lovely Mansion House Dublin the night is proving to be a great celebration of creative & technical talent in Ireland.
At Rothco we’re proud to work with Frontline Defenders.
We attended the annual Frontline Award for Human Rights Defenders at Risk breakfast in Dublin’s City Hall yesterday morning.
Mary Robinson, president of the Mary Robinson Foundation – Climate Justice, presented the annual Frontline Award for Human Rights Defenders at Risk to the Joint Mobile Group of the Russian Federation for their outstanding work investigating torture and disappearances in Chechnya despite the serious risks.
Great news for Rothco at this year’s ICAD awards where Rothco-ees fairly wore a path in floorboards of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham as they went up and down to the podium – picking up coveted Bells in hard fought categories from tv to radio to digital.
First our iconic Seal tv commercial for 98fm (recently voted best Irish tv commercial of 2010 by the Sunday Business Post) was awarded a Bell in the tv section; then our super smart campaign for Currys picked up another Bell in the 30 second radio category, while our radio work for charity Frontline also picked up a sound design Bell for recording studio Mutiny (well done lads!)
And what about digital? Rothco is a growing force in digital, with stonking work for Dublin Bus, Maynooth, O2 and 98FM making waves all year – so it was nice to see our extravaganza for 98fm, featuring unicorns, angels, the pop group Hanson and hot chocolate picking up – check it out now at http://youtu.be/1mQyJ5enGzo
It was no wonder bearded compere for the night Senator David Norris felt compelled to plant a smacker on the cheek of our own bearded art director Stephen Rogers as they were having their photos taken. Though to be fair, Stephen had kissed him first!
Here at Rothco, we’re doing our bit to spread the word about the fantastic new craze of Unicorn Milking!
Yep…that’s right…milking and unicorns are together (at last!) and all things dairy, just got mythical! You saw it here first!!
“How to Milk a Unicorn”
Ingredients:
• 3 cups of unicorn milk
• 1 large bar of chocolate
• The sneeze of a day-old deer.
• One teaspoon of cinnamon.
• 1/3 cup of happy cherub (chubby variety) tears
• 1 tablespoon of cloud.
• Choir boy wee (optional)
• 1/2 teaspoon ground Nun’s hair.
• A pinch of Bieber breath
• 1 Dove egg
Directions:
Extract Unicorn milk, make sure you warm your hands first – it’s got a horn.
Put 3 cups of the unicorn milk into a microwave-safe container and cook on high in microwave for 2 minutes.
Mix in chocolate, cinnamon and the sneeze. In a small bowl, whisk the Dove egg until smooth, pour the egg into the choirboy whizz for an extra kick and stir in the tears, cloud and nun-hair extract, then add this to the rest of the mixture.
Return to microwave and cook on high for 3 to 4 minutes or until foamy (be careful not to let it boil.)
Whisk until smooth and pour into 3 mugs. Finally, cool with a blow on the top of the mug from Justin Bieber and serve.
Front Line is the International Foundation for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders.
Front Line was founded in Dublin in 2001 with the specific aim of protecting human rights defenders at risk, people who work, non-violently, for any or all of the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). Front Line aims to address the protection needs identified by defenders themselves.
